Late Autumn | "Together"
Autumn 2024
Autumn is drawing to a close, and the landscape grows ever barer.
On an outing in the Berlin countryside, I came across a trumpet tree with enormous, beautiful leaves. The freshly fallen leaves captivated me instantly, and I couldn’t help but think about nature’s constant transformation: from the freshness of spring to the vibrant life of summer and the stunning color palette of autumn. It seemed as if the leaves were trying to capture all the attention one last time before finally falling from the branch.
On a whim, I began collecting some of these leaves, not knowing why. Only later did the idea to paint on them emerge. Each leaf was carefully pressed and preserved to maintain its natural shape. Painting on them with high-quality ink proved to be a challenge – a delicate balance between preserving their natural beauty and adding a vibrant, new expression.
This is how the Together series came to life – a homage to impermanence and the opportunity to breathe new life into nature in a fresh context.
