"You can only see well with your heart"

Sometimes a good idea meets us suddenly and unexpectedly in places that are often hidden, such as here in the courtyard of the Formfabrik.
This place gave me the opportunity to create an art installation that combines art, nature and architecture for a positive change.
In Berlin Kreuzberg, with the developments of Pandion (Hello Fresh) the trades were strongly condensed.
Roses have grown directly on the wall facing the new neighbours and the "Formfabrik" project for the last 40 years. They have survived the construction phase of the last three years and have been tended by Geisler GmbH for years. A beautiful testimony to the fact that nature is more enduring than man-made structures.
To give these beautiful roses in the courtyard a better future, I have developed a concept for climbing aids.
The shape refers to an elements made by workers in the Formfabrik; element of a pacemaker. The art installation helps the rose to grow.
I am glad to create a place that is in dialogue with its surroundings and points to further development.
With a metal installation and a statement that is especially clear when a wall is placed in front of you: "You can only see well with your heart".

TAG DER BAULKULTUR
"Life, active by and on the water" – Theodor Fontane wrote that the Havel is the charming northern German version of the Neckar and essentially a chain of lakes. One of these "charming" lakes is home to a central project of RealFuture, the Fürstenberg Quarter Havelfabrik.
The Havelfabrik is one of my favorite projects because it is a place of transformation. It harmoniously combines history and modernity, offering space to live, work, and enjoy.
In my 2022 work, I depicted the vibrancy and diverse facets of this location in connection with the element of water. Water, as the foundation of all life, always follows the path of least resistance – in the same way, this project reflects this natural dynamic.

TAG DER BAUKULTUR
The more consciously people perceive their built environment, the more they engage, identify with their place, and strengthen their sense of belonging. The Building Culture Initiative Brandenburg is calling for the “Tag der Baukultur” in Brandenburg on September 23 and 24, 2023.
This event is organized by the Building Culture Initiative Brandenburg in collaboration with the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects and the Ministry of Infrastructure and State Planning of the State of Brandenburg.
One of the participating projects is the "Havelfabrik" in Fürstenberg/Havel. Two years ago, I discovered this unique building, which fascinated me from the very beginning. The location, the history, and especially the vision of the Havelfabrik inspired me to capture the essence of this building in various artworks.
For the “Tag der Baukultur,” I created a monumental painting and presented it with art at the container. Visitors have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive guided tour and experience the Havelfabrik up close. The tours are led by Frank Sippel, the founder of Real Future and developer of alternative real estate projects such as the Havelfabrik, along with the architectural planning experts from the Vienna office "Moon Architekten."
The Havelfabrik is an incredible building with impressive plans for the future of this extraordinary place. It is a place of transformation and stands as a prime example of the connection between art and architecture celebrated during the “Tag der Baukultur”.
