The Journey Begins
Autumn 2016, in Somerset: Suddenly it was there – the idea of a matrix. An inner structure meant to bring order to what was unfolding both within me and around me. A connection between human and nature, between inside and outside. The idea was clear, but the path uncertain.
I experimented, searched, tried things – like a guinea pig.
Bold, sometimes aimless, but always moving forward.
And then, completely unexpected: a black bunny. Drawn on a white sheet of paper. Just like that.
But he was different – not a motif, but a direction.
A gamechanger.
The bunny became a figure that leads. To new artworks, new decisions, a new series.
What began as the idea of a matrix turned into movement. And the bunny led the way.
When You Follow a Bunny
When you follow a bunny, an adventure begins.
What first appears as a single figure starts to multiply. New paths emerge – branches, repetitions, detours.
The movement becomes complex. Some routes run parallel, others intersect, some lead nowhere. Orientation becomes a challenge.
The clear starting point begins to blur. What was once structure becomes more open, more permeable – and at times, chaotic.
But this is where the strength lies: in allowing the unknown, in holding space for complexity. The bunny continues to lead – not in a straight line, but with life and momentum.
Sometimes you just follow a feeling, without really knowing where it will lead. Only along the way do you realize how much can grow from it – step by step, something new unfolds.
