Unexpected Spring
Kelowna, British Columbia
Spring stands for new beginnings – exactly what I wished for. A surprise that excites me and brings new energy. It wasn't planned, but I came to Canada.
The landscape, the people, and ice hockey immediately captivated me.
I spend my time with a hockey team, observing how the professionals train mentally, physically, and spiritually, both together and individually. As an artist, I find this particularly fascinating. The discipline, motivation, and relentless effort of the players inspire me. It's impressive to see how they constantly challenge themselves and push beyond their limits.
Just like an artist who continuously refines their technique, searches for new forms of expression, and doesn't get discouraged by setbacks, athletes also strive for perfection. Both artists and athletes must have deep passion and dedication for their work to achieve their goals. The creative process in art and the intensive training in sports share the same essence of perseverance and striving for excellence.
Spring isn't fully here yet, but what excites me is the blooming willow. Its yellow color is slightly lemony and shimmers with warm tones in the light. I used to think of willows as sad, but here they bring tears of joy. Being under this tree feels like being in the Matrix or under a shower.
The willow also has symbolic meaning: as a Bach flower remedy, it helps improve the ability to take personal responsibility and think constructively. It shows that by overcoming pain and death, one is reborn to new life.
Everything here is unexpected, and I realize that a new chapter has begun within me.
