“Bunnies” is a collaboration between the Berlin based artist, Anna Kott and the Haiku writer, Caty Schernus. 

Bunnies are the symbol that draw together the themes of transformation, infinite potential and liveliness.

Bunnies: familiar and approachable are also social, soft and fertile, alert to fear, aware of life, acting quickly before becoming enmeshed in laboured rationalism. 

 Bunnies explores the symbolic resonance of something that looks so playful but is often overlooked or hunted. 

This exhibition celebrates the spontaneous action and vitality of Bunnies and opens up our gaze to what it might be to live in tune with our surroundings, to be balanced and yet spontaneous, to be alert and alive, unbound. 

 Perhaps they can be a magical teacher to us all, a gift in finding ways out of the rabbit hole of life. 

Alongside the artworks created by Kott are eleven Haikus written by Caty Schernus. The Japanese Haiku in its short form of poetry: 17 syllables made up of three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, express much and suggest more in the fewest possible words. A Haiku is both simple and profound...much like a bunny. 

 All drawings, photos and paintings created by Anna Kott are part of an upcoming book titled “Are U the 1?”. The story centres on Bunny, a young woman who wishes for a positive change in her life. Reluctant to question beloved stability and routine, she follows her inner voice and leaps into the unknown.
